Tax Preparation
MetroCASH offers free tax preparation services to households earning less than $50,000 annuallyin 2011. Our services are made possible through the IRS sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
MetroCASH volunteer tax preparers are professionally trained, and certified by the IRS, to prepare basic tax returns in over 10 convenient locations throughout the Greater Richmond and Petersburg region.

About the EITC:

If you or your family made less than $49,078 last year, you may be eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (or EITC).
The EITC is the nation's largest anti-poverty campaign that boosts more than 5 million families over the poverty line each year. If claimed, the EITC may provide a refund of up to $5,751 for certain families.
Each year, 20-25% of eligible tax payers fail to claim this credit that may help them pay bills, reduce debt, or save for the future. Free tax prep sites ensure that all eligible tax filers claim the EITC.
